Terms of Service

Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the DailyZine website, mobile applications, and related services (together, the “Service”) operated by Daily Zine (“DailyZine”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
The Service
DailyZine is a discovery and reading tool. We index publicly available information about content published by independent third-party publishers (for example via RSS or Atom feeds) and present listings so you can browse, follow publishers, and open the original work on the publisher's site.
We are not a publisher of the third-party articles, videos, podcasts, comics, recipes, or other material linked from the Service. We do not host the full text, audio, or video of that material except as needed to operate the Service (for example titles, excerpts, and thumbnails for discovery).
More about how the Service works is in our About page.
Eligibility
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live to use the Service. If you are under the age required in your country, you may use the Service only with a parent or guardian's permission and supervision.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law or if we have suspended or ended your access.
Accounts
Some features (such as a personalised feed, following publishers, or saving items to your library) require an account. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure.
You must provide accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised via our contact page.
We may refuse registration, close accounts, or reclaim usernames that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are misleading, infringing, or abusive.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any unlawful way or for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service (including by overloading, scraping in an abusive manner, or circumventing technical limits)
- Use automated means to access the Service except as we expressly permit (for example standard feed clients or search engines where allowed by our robots policy)
- Reverse engineer or decompile the Service except where applicable law expressly allows it
- Infringe intellectual property or other rights of DailyZine, publishers, or third parties
- Harass, impersonate, or harm others through the Service
- Submit false or fraudulent publisher removal or rights requests
We may investigate violations and cooperate with law enforcement where required.
Third-party content and external sites
Listings and links on DailyZine point to content controlled by third-party publishers. Those publishers are responsible for their sites, content, accuracy, availability, advertising, paywalls, and privacy practices. Inclusion in our index does not mean we endorse any publisher or item.
When you follow a link to a publisher site, you leave DailyZine and your use of that site is governed by the publisher's terms and policies. See External links & third-party content for more detail.
Publishers and rights holders who want listings corrected or removed should update their feeds where possible and follow our publisher removal process. We treat such requests as unverified until we can establish that the requester controls the relevant source, site, or rights.
Intellectual property
DailyZine's name, logos, software, design, and other materials we provide are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding except as allowed by our written permission or applicable law.
Third-party content remains the property of the respective publishers and creators. We do not claim ownership of indexed articles, episodes, images, or trademarks displayed for discovery purposes.
Your activity and feedback
The Service may store information about how you use it (for example follows, likes, read-later lists, and preferences) to provide and improve features. How we collect and use personal data is described in our Privacy Notice.
If you send us suggestions, comments, or other feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use that feedback to operate and improve the Service without obligation to you.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may change over time: we may add or remove features, modify how listings are ranked or displayed, or discontinue parts of the Service.
We may perform maintenance that temporarily limits access. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by factors outside our reasonable control (including third-party networks, publisher sites, or feed outages).
Disclaimers
The Service is provided for general information and discovery. It is not professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise). We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any third-party content.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits warranties or rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including statutory consumer rights where you qualify as a consumer).
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, DailyZine and its operators, directors, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business arising from or related to your use of the Service or third-party content accessed through it.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred pounds sterling (GBP 100), except where a higher limit is required by law.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, the above limits apply only to the maximum extent allowed.
Indemnity
If you use the Service in breach of these Terms or in a way that infringes third-party rights, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless DailyZine and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from that use, except to the extent caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, or discontinue the Service or any part of it, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue offering the Service.
Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive termination.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (for example in the Service or by email where we have your address).
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.
General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice and any additional terms we present for specific features, form the entire agreement between you and DailyZine regarding the Service.
If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, except that if you are a consumer resident in another country, you may also benefit from mandatory protections and courts in your country of residence.
